RYMAN DIVISION ONE (NORTH) MIDWEEK PREVIEW

It's a busy midweek in the Ryman Division One North with eight matches being played tomorrow and one on Wednesday night. The cold end has been working on and studying the statistics for all the club's currently in Town's division so here is a preview of the forthcoming matches -

Brentwood Town v Needham Market
Saturday's defeat at Redbridge was the first time Brentwood have failed to score in a league match this season. In their four home league games so far they have beaten teams in the lower half of the league in Leyton and Waltham Forest, drawn against Waltham Abbey and lost against East Thurrock United. Needham have won six league games in a row after losing their first away league game at Tilbury. They have not failed to score in any of their eight league games and currently have an average of 3.13 goals scored per league game with the blues have averaging 1.78 goals. Expect a close game but Needham Market should just have enough to win.

Cheshunt v Heybridge Swifts
The Amber's have three wins and two loses at home in the league so far with The Swifts losing only one in five on the road so far. The Amber's scored twice at Needham Market on Saturday so will be full of confidence with Heybridge stuttering and only managing a draw at home to Waltham Forest. Another close game in prospect with the first goal scored being the all important one as the cold end thinks whoever scores first will win the game.

Great Wakering Rovers v Tilbury
Town's opponents on Saturday beat Heybridge Swifts 2-1 in their last home league game and also narrowly lost to Thamesmead Town in the FA Trophy. The Docker's are not the best travelling having lost 4 and won 1 on the road so far this season. GWR did ride their luck somewhat in the opening 15 minutes against Enfield Town which points towards Tilbury being given chances to score. A close game to call which GWR may just shade.

Leyton v Ilford
An East London basement battle on the cards at Lea Bridge Road. Leyton gained a creditable draw at Thamesmead Town on Saturday but haven't won since beating Waltham Forest 2-1 at home in the second game of the season. Ilford have won at Ware and drawn at AFC Sudbury in their last two away trips. A tough game to predict with a score-draw maybe the outcome??.

Maldon & Tiptree v Ware
The returning Ryan Wade went close for Ware hitting the crossbar before Romford ran out 0-2 winners at Wodson Park on Saturday with Maldon recording a good 0-2 victory at Tilbury. Maldon have strengthened their squad with the addition of Dean Fenton signed from Harrow Borough and should be too good for Ware on the night. Tony Faulkner's side have a miserable record away from Wodson Park losing all five of their league games on the road letting in seventeen goals in the process.

Potters Bar Town vs. Redbridge
Adam Lee's side have recorded some good wins of late most notably 1-2 at Grays on Saturday. They are unbeaten in four home league games and face Redbridge who won unexpectedly 4-0 at home to Brentwood Town at the weekend. New Motormen manger Kris Taylor has made some good signings in attempt to haul his side off the bottom of the table. Form says the Scholars should win this game as the East London side are without a win on the road so far but Redbridge will be buoyed by their excellent result against Brentwood. Too close to call!!

Romford v Grays Athletic
Romford are unbeaten at home in the league and have only let in two goals in four games. Athletics's form in somewhat topsy turvy and they haven't scored away from home in their last two league games. The Boro to just about shade this one.

Wingate & Finchley v Waltham Abbey
Wingate have had only one defeat at home in the league against Heybridge Swifts with four victories against Romford, Brentwood, Redbridge and East Thurrock United. The visiting Abbey side who have only won one game away from home against struggling Leyton will be well organised defensively and tough to break down but W&F will be too strong for them.

Waltham Forest v Thamesmead Town
The Stags are the only side now without a victory in the league. They have drawn three out of the five home league games but face a tough test against Thamesmead Town on Wednesday night. Aside from defeats at Needham Market and Heybridge Swifts The Mead have won three times away from home with victories at Enfield Town and East Thurrock United standing out. Expect three points to be heading South at 10pm on Wednesday night.
