The only other mid-week game was the 0-0 draw between Romford and Heybridge Swifts. Boro have not let in more than 1 goal in any of their nine league games so far and presently have the best goals against record with only five conceded so far this season.
In other news it's been announced former Enfield FC centre-back Simon Peddie has departed Redbridge to join fellow Ryman North side East Thurrock United. Midfielder Sos Yao has moved from Harlow Town to one of his former clubs in Premier Division AFC Hornchurch from whom he joined the Hawks at the beginning of the season. AFC Sudbury have released veteran goalkeeper Richard Wilmot and signed Nicky Eyre from Blue Square South side Bishop's Stortford and goal-machine Ryan Wade has re-joined Ware after leaving Wodson Park for Cambridge City earlier in the season. Wade had limited chances at The City Ground making just one start (in the Zameratto League Cup) and seven appearances as a substitute in the league and FA Cup scoring just two goals. One against Long Buckby (FA Cup 11/09) and a a penalty in the same competition against Dover Athletic on the 9th October. Wade is eligible to play in Ware's home game against Romford on Saturday and who wouldn't bet on him hitting the back of the net?? Will Boro's impressive defence be able to prevent him from doing so??
Thamesmead Town have strengthened their already impressive forward line by signing 20 year old striker Kai Bichard from Ryman South side Worthing. Bichard has been on the books of AFC Wimbledon, Wycombe Wanderers and Tooting and Mitcham. The pacey forward has also turned out for the reserve sides of Fulham, Aldershot Town and Cardiff City. Bichard made a great start to his Mead career by scoring on his debut in the Championship Manager cup win over Maidstone United

Great Wakering Rovers visit Goldsdown Road on Saturday in another important league game. A slip up by the Town will see any one of Harlow Town, Thamesmead Town, Heybridge Swfits and Needham Market possibly go top of the league. The Essex side have picked up just two points out of the twelve they've had to gain on the road in the league so far this season. Their two draws being against Leyton and Potters Bar Town and two defeats at Cheshunt and Maldon & Tiptree. Rovers did gain some revenge on the Ambers by winning 0-2 in the FA Trophy on the 2nd of October - Thamesmead Town knocked Rovers out of the Trophy in a 1-2 victory in Essex on Saturday. Top scorer so far this season is centre-forward Luca Frankis on 4 goals closely followed by Captain and fan's favourite Lee Trenkell with fellow forwards Bradley Walsh and Billy Johnson on 3 goals each. Trenks is well known to Enfield Town fans and is bound to take part in a little bit of friendly banter on Saturday. He played a big part in Rovers 2-3 incident packed win at Goldsdown Road last February. Lets hope the game this weekend is as entertaining as that one but with the reverse result!!!
