THE COLD END RETURNS AND TOWN WIN AGAIN!!

The returning cold end didn't have time to make it to Fetcham Grove to watch Town's fantastic 3-1 FA Trophy win against Division One South Leatherhead. What makes the result even better reading is the fact the Tanners have only lost once in their league campaign so far and that was against table-topper's Metropolitan Police who have won all eight of their league games so far scoring 26 and letting in just 2 goals.

Town will now face another Division One (South) side in the next round as Walton Casuals won 1-2 at Eastbourne Town this afternoon. The game will take place at Goldsdown Road on Saturday 16th October. There are no problems with fixture clashes with Enfield FC 1893 as they are scheduled to play away at Eton Manor in the Essex Senior League.

Elsewhere this afternoon, Town's FA Cup opponents Boreham Wood warmed up for next Saturday's all important clash by winning their first Blue Square South league game of the season at home to Dartford. Two goals (one a penalty) from Mario Noto and an own goal earned the Hertfordshire side a 3-1 win. There is no doubt that Town facing a side from two levels above will be big underdogs next weekend but the lads have nothing to lose and everything to gain!!!

The Ryman North Division had a mixed bag of results in the FA Trophy today with Maldon and Tiptree, East Thurrock United, Cheshunt, Tilbury, Waltham Abbey and Ware all falling at the first hurdle on the road to Wembley. Potters Bar Town continued their good form winning 3-0 away at Corinthian Casuals and Needham Market underlined what a good team they are by seeing off Hitchin Town 4-2 at Bloomfields. The Canaries, who are third in the Zamaretto League Central Division recently ran Premier Division top boy's Cambridge City close in the FA Cup. AFC Sudbury were involved in a festival of goals at Moatside when they ran out 4-6 winners against Mertsham in what sounds an amazing game!
