AVELEY VISIT GOLDSDOWN ROAD ON TUESDAY NIGHT

Enfield Town return to action at Goldsdown Road on Tuesday night when Ryman Premier Division Aveley visit.

Aveley had a fantastic first season in the top division finishing in third place before being defeated at home by Boreham Wood in the play-off Semi Final. Manager Rod Stringer has since moved up to boss Braintree Town in the Blue Square South taking with him a number of players from his former club to Cressing Road.

Alan Kimble is the new manager at Mill Field assisted by his twin-brother Garry.

On Saturday The Millers beat Romford 4-0 in the landlords v tenants match courtesy of a David Knight penalty with Adrian Graham, Luke Coleman and Charlie Reed all getting on the scoresheet. Ex Town player Ryan Edgar has featured in some of the pre season games for Aveley so may make an appearance on Tuesday night.

A full run down of their pre-season results to date reads -

10th Jul - Leyton L 0-1 @ Bacon's College.
16th Jul - Welling United W 1-0 Home
20th Jul - Ebbsfleet United D 1-1 Home
24th Jul - Heybridge Swifts W 1-0 Home
27th Jul - Braintree Town D 0-0 Home
31st Jul - Romford W 4-0 Away

The match against Leyton was played by an 'experimental' Aveley side but even including this result Kimble's new team have only let in 2 goals in 6 games which is pretty impressive even in pre season. It'll certainly be interesting to see if Town's forward line can breach the Essex side's back line and put in a good performance in the build up to the start of the season proper.
