COLNEY HEATH UP NEXT FOR TOWN... THE FRIENDLY SEASON STARTS

Town lost 2-1 to Mildenhall Town in Saturday's friendly with the pre-season campaign moving on the Spartan South Midlands League Colney Heath on Tuesday night and then onto Zamaretto League Central Division side Daventry Town next Saturday, when all being well normal cold end coverage will return.

The friendly season is now fully underway for mostly all Ryman North clubs. AFC Sudbury, who have won two of two against Brantham Athletic (6-1) and Cornard United (3-0), entertain Blue Square Premier Wrexham on Tuesday night and visit FC Clacton on the 30th July. Brentwood Town have played once drawing against Ryman Premier Billericay Town in last midweek - they travel to ESL side Takeley FC on Tuesday before playing Eton Manor away on Saturday.

Chatham Town start their pre-season next Saturday with a trip to the seaside to face Herne Bay, Cheshunt also start next Saturday playing Hatfield Town away before taking part in the Broxboune Borough pre-season tournament where they are due to face EFC 1893 on Monday 26th July before playing either Broxbourne or Wormley Rovers later on in the week subject to results in the first games.

East Thurrock United play their first game on the 24th July when they entertain Essex Oylmpian League side Hutton. Grays Athletic face a trip to Thurrock on Monday night with a 7pm kick off before going to Wivenhoe Town on Saturday.

Great Wakering Rovers who started their season off with a 4-2 local derby win against Southend Manor on Saturday face Billericay Town on Tuesday night before entertaining ECL side Stanway Rovers next Saturday. Harlow Town won 4-0 at Sawbridgeworth Town yesterday, face their 2nd friendly on Wednesday night with a trip to Essex Oylmpian Forest Glade who play at the Barleylands Social Club in Basildon. Heybridge Swifts who drew 2-2 at Leiston yesterday entertain Braintree Town on Tuesday night before going to Burnham Ramblers on Saturday. Leyton play Fisher FC on Saturday in game which will played at the Bacon's College in SE16. Wilson Frimpong's side have started their build up to the big kick off well recording a 4-1 win against Greenwich Borough and a 1-0 win agianst an 'experimental' Aveley side.

Ryman North new boys Needham Market begin in midweek on the 20th July with a trip to Wroxham before going to UCL 'new' club Kings Lynn Town next Saturday. The Scholar's of Potters Bar Town start on Tuesday playing SSML side Sun Postal Sports before going to Harefield United on Saturday.

Redbridge started yesterday with a 4-3 win over Eton Manor at Waltham Abbey in a match which consisted of 3 x 40 minute segments, the next friendly scheduled for the Motormen is an away trip to Stotfold on the 31st July but they hope to annouce another game prior to their journey to Bedfordshire.

Romford have a weekend trip to the seaside to face Felixstowe and Walton United after starting their campaign with a 3-1 home loss versus Canvey Island yesterday. Thamesmead Town start next weekend when Whitstable Town come to South London. On Sunday 26th July their is another game at Bayliss Avenue when Eltham Royals face a Tottenham Hotspur Legends side which may feature (subject to confirmation) Micky Hazard, Tony Galvin, Mark Falco, Graham Roberts, Steve Perryman, Paul Allen, Gary Stevens, Clive Wilson, Steve Sledgley and Andy Sinton amongst others. All proceeds go to the Demelza Hospice care for children charity. Kick off for this game is at 2pm.

The Docker's of Tilbury drew 0-0 against Burnham Ramblers yesterday in front of 49 people entertain two more ESL sides in Bethnal Green United on Tuesday and EFC 1893 on Saturday. Paul Vaughan's new look side have also played and beat Basildon United 5-1 in a trialist game on the 10th July in the build up to the big kick off to the new season. Waltham Abbey played Hoddesdon Town at The Country Club in Cheshunt yesterday play at home to EFC 1893 on Tuesday before travelling to Hertford Town on Saturday.

Waltham Forest, whose next scheduled friendly is away to Bedfordshire County side and friend's of the cold end Southill Alexander on the 4th August, lost 3-0 to Barkingside yesterday.

Ware face a Wycombe Wanderers XI on Thursday night before playing Hemel Hempstead Town in the Hertfordshire Charity Cup on Saturday.

W&F, who drew 0-0 against Prestatyn Town yesterday in North Wales, have a shorter midweek trip to Amersham Town before going to Uxbridge on Saturday.

The eagle eyed amongst you will see I have missed Ilford and "new club" Maldon and Tiptree FC in the above as the cold end can't find any information on games that these two clubs are playing. If you know of any please contact me.
