BIG LOCAL DERBY AWAITS AT THEOBALDS LANE

It's a very short trip up the A10 tomorrow night for Enfield Town who travel to Theobalds Lane to take on 17th placed local rival's Cheshunt. The Amber's form of late has been up and down beating Leyton and Potters Bar Town away from home before losing to Wingate and Finchley and VCD Athletic at home.

Cheshunt's form against the top 11 and bottom 11 of the table shows a striking difference as follows:

P W D L GF GA PTS
TOP 11 16 1 0 15 13 46 3
BOTTOM 11 16 10 1 5 24 15 31

It makes even worse reading for Bob Dearie's side in that their only victory against a team from the current top 11 was the 1-0 home victory over eleventh placed Tilbury. Our game last season at Theobalds Lane was a closely fought 0-1 victory courtesy of Sammy Winston's second half goal. The Ambers did run Concord Rangers close, losing 1-2 at home to a last minute goal which shows they can play against the better sides in the division. In front of (hopefully) a larger than average crowd it's another important game Steve and Del will want to win to keep our play-off aspirations on track and with the Cheshunt side up for putting one over on one of their local rivals it's sure to be an interesting game.
