Enfield Town 3 Waltham Abbey 1

The Town broke their Ryman League Cup (now known as The Championship Manager Cup) hoodoo tonight thanks debutant's Ben Hammond (one goal) and Liam Hope (two goals). The final result being 3-1, the cold end wasn't present but the director has told me it was a very good performance from the team.

Hope has signed from Zamaretto Premier side Didcot Town where he has scored for them this season several times and has also played for Zamaretto Division One (S&W) side North Leigh.

Hammond has signed from SSMFL side Leverstock Green and is a goal-scorer midfielder (18 games and 7 goals so far this season). He has also played for Kings Langley and played for Levvy against us in the FA Cup earlier in the season and if you refer to the cold end's report for this game you will see the following quote 'Leverstock had a good spell of play at the beginning of the second half with Ben Hammond looking a good player in midfield.' The cold end and associates scouted Hammond as a useful looking player in this game and is happy to have him playing for the Town at Goldsdown Road. Welcome Ben and Liam!!

Well done to all the team for a what was apparently a very impressive performance putting us back onto winning ways!! Roll on Wingate and Finchley on Saturday.

Elsewhere tonight in the Middlesex Charity Cup 1st Round our opponents next Tuesday Hillingdon Borough beat Enfield 1893 FC 2-1. In the Essex Senior Cup Great Wakering Rovers held a Dagenham & Redbridge side to a 3-3 draw at Victoria Road with the home side eventually prevailing 5-4 on penalties. Speedy winger Joao Carlos who last season played very well for Aveley was on the score sheet for the Daggers.
