Chester City's match versus Grays Athletic tomorrow has been 'cancelled' by the conference. The following link to the BBC Football site explains the current situation:

North of the border another financially troubled club Livingston FC will not travel to Ochilview to play East Stirling tomorrow. Livvy were relegated to the bottom division during the week for a 'breach of insolvency rules'. An appeal against their relegation is to heard during the week; Airdrie United and Cowdenbeath's games (the club's promoted via Livvy's relegation) are also called off pending the appeal. The Cold End can only think about the supporters of each club in crisis.
The future for Chester City is looking increasingly bleak with the club's centre of excellence being closed this week.
However the club's have been run and whatever financial difficulty they get into, the loyal supporter's don't deserve after a pre-season of uncertainty and matches behind closed doors to be told that the season can go ahead and then told 24 hours later the game is cancelled. From reading on their supporter's message boards it appears that there was a sense of relief that they could see their team in action (they still had a club to support) once more even with the massive -25 deduction. Now after looking forward to a trip to Essex they are once again left wondering if their beloved club will ever play again.
The Cold End being an Enfield/Enfield Town fan since 1987 and being present through the troubles, the sad demise and demolition of Southbury Road and Enfield FC as we knew it can only sympathise with supporters of clubs in this position with hope there is still some light at the end of the tunnel for Chester City fans.
Chester are scheduled to play Gateshead at The Deva Stadium on Tuesday next week. Lets all hope this game goes ahead and there is a chink of light shining at the end of the dark tunnel.
1000 not out
Unlike the England and Wales cricket board The Cold End is celebrating with a very small glass of red wine tonight for being 1000 not out.
1000 hits/visits since the blog was started a few weeks back. Whilst I am never going to trouble Google 1000 hits can't be bad and all promoting the name of Enfield Town Football Club.
FC Sherriff Tiraspol get tough draw in Champions League play off round
Having battled through two rounds as underdogs against Finnish side Inter Turku and Slavia Prague TCE's favourite Moldovan club have been handed a tough draw in the Champions League play off round. They play (to give them their full name) Olympiacos Club of Fans of Piraeus, Greek League Champions of 2009. Olympiacos along with Panathinaikos and AEK Athens have dominated Greek Football since the inception of the top division in 1927.
The first leg in at the Sheriff Stadium in Transnistria on the 18th August, with the Moldovan Champions facing a difficult second leg trip to Greece on 26th August
Before these two games Olympiacos face a trip to North London to face Tottenham Hotspur in a freindly match at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Have the Moldovan team come as far as they can in the Champions League???? TCE is backing them all the way to be the first team of their country to qualify for the group stages.
