With a gap of eight points currently between 20th and 21st positions the battle to beat the drop is getting harder and harder for the current bottom four as each week passes. There are some huge games coming up in January - none more so than at Clarence Park on New Years Day where St Albans City host Enfield Town in a game neither side can afford to lose if they want a chance to climb out of the drop zone. The game is bound to attract a decent attendance with a large support travelling the short distance from North London. The Saints top league crowd this season has been 1,737 on the opening day against Maidstone United - Last season on Boxing Day 3,589 people saw the local derby game against Hemel Hempstead Town.
