FARNBOROUGH are the only team left with a 100% winning record - they have won 1-2 at Chippenham Town on the opening day and followed this up with a 1-0 victory over Torquay United and 2-0 win over Eastbourne Borough. The experienced 37 year old striker Ricky Holmes has made a great start to the 24/25 campaign netting three in three games which is half-way to the six National League South goals he got last season in 39 games. Could the Hampshire side go better than the eighth place they got to last season?
At the bottom of the table it's only WEYMOUTH left without a win or even a point. The Terras have lost 3-2 at Tonbridge Angels on the opening day and then failed to score in their two home games losing 0-2 to both Hemel Hempstead Town and Chippenham Town. They have a very tough looking trip to Boreham Wood on Saturday who have made a good start to their season as expected winning against Bath City (1-0), Chesham United (2-1) and drawing 2-2 at Dorking Wanderers. Erico Sousa has a good game at Meadowbank scoring one and assisting the other goal.
CHELMSFORD CITY, HAMPTON & RICHMOND BOROUGH, CHESHAM UNITED, AVELEY and ST ALBANS CITY are the other teams to sit without a win but have picked up at least a point.
FARNBOROUGH, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD TOWN, BOREHAM WOOD, DORKING WANDERERS, TONBRIDGE ANGELS, SALISBURY and WORTHING are the teams left without a defeat.
Unsurprisingly, after their 1-6 midweek win at ENFIELD TOWN, it's SLOUGH TOWN who are top scorers on eight goals scored. The Towners have the worst defensive record on eight goals conceded but are closely followed by Weymouth on seven. The Rebels follow up their impressive victory with a home game against the other Isthmian Premier Division promoted side HORNCHURCH who have made a great start with two wins from three games.
The lowest crowd so far was 422 that saw Aveley's 0-1 home defeat against Hemel Hempstead Town on Monday 19th August with the top attendance being the 3,837 who were at Plainmoor on the opening day of the season to see Torquay United beat Enfield Town. Could this be beaten this Saturday as The Gulls host Dorking Wanderers in one of the games of the day?
Saturday 24th August
