San Marino's first official game took place at The Stadio Olimpico on 14th November 1990 in a Euro 1992 Qualifier against Switzerland who won 0-4 in front of 931 people. They had played a number of matches previously as a non FIFA affiliated team.
In this week's International games they travel to FIFA ranked 113 Kazakhstan on Friday 17th November and then on Monday 20th November they host Finland (62).
Friday's match which will be hosted at The Astana Arena in Kazakhstan's Capital City is San Marino's Two Hundredth match since they were FIFA affiliated - Could this special game being them some luck and a win??
Fabrizio Costantini's side will still be celebrating scoring a goal in their recent 1-2 defeat to Denmark. Midfielder Alessandro Golinucci scored in the 61st minute to make it 1-1 which was his first goal in 48 caps for his country. It was their first goal in a competative game since September 2021 when Nicola Nanni scored in a 1-7 World Cup qualifying defeat to Poland.
