The Thurlow Nunn League season gets underway with some Friday night football at Aveley FC's Parkside where May and Baker Last season Barkingside finished in 12th and the hosts in 8th position. This should be a well attended game with lots of neutral fans eager to see an official league game after all the pre-season games played in July.

In the Premier Division on the opening Saturday Division One Champion's Heacham make their debut at Step Five of the non-league ladder with a long trip to Woodbridge Town who ended last season in fourth place. Downham Town who followed them upwards via the play-offs travel to Hadleigh United.
Dereham Town return to the Thurlow Nunn Premier after a ten season spell playing at Step Four - they host Brantham Athletic in their season opener.
Thetford Town who missed out on promotion after finishing runner's up last season and lost at Barton Rovers in the Step 4/5 play-offs travel to Mulbarton Wanderers.

In the North Division Great Yarmouth Town who have made some impressive signings travel to newly promoted FC Peterborough who finished in fifth place of the Peterborough & District League Premier Division.
One of their signings is Aaron Sanders who can play anywhere along the front line. He scored 7 goals in 19 league appearances for Sheringham's First Division North title winning 21/22 season and also helped Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers to the Anglian Combination Premier last season netting an impressive 21 goals in 25 league games.

There are some brilliant fixtures to look forward to in the First Division South as Brimsdown return to Step Six football with a trip to play Hackney Wick at Witham Town. There should be a good crowd as Harlow Town return to football with a game against newly promoted Hutton who won the Essex Olympian League last season. Another big attendance is expected at Wormley Rovers where Middlesex County League Champion's Clapton Community make their debut at Step Six.
