It's fantastic to see Stony Stratford Town back in the Spartan South Midlands League. Stony were last in the league back in 2015/16 when after a 10th place finish in Division Two they dropped down to the North Bucks & District League Intermediate Division. The club didn't have a first team during the 19/20 pandemic affected season but happily returned to football for the 20/21 campaign and have been highly successful over the past few seasons.
They won Division Two on a PPG basis in 20/21. The next season saw the Division One title won and the Division One Challenge Trophy lifted. It was double delight last season as they won the Premier Division title on GD from Great Horwood and won the Interdivisional Trophy beating Hale Leys United in the final.
Their best placed finishes in the SSMFL came in the 05/06 and 06/07 season when they finished in 3rd place of Division One.
