NEW CREST, NEW GROUND AND NEW DIVISION FOR CANTERBURY CITY

Canterbury City have announced their new club crest. It will be used from the start of the forthcoming season. The club were reformed in 2007 after the original club folding in 2001 following the loss of their Kingsmead Stadium in the Kent City.

Since reforming they have played on pitches in the villages of Bridge and Hersden before ground sharing at Herne Bay, Ashford United, Deal Town, Faversham Town and Sittingbourne.

In September 2021 the club announced they had withdrawn from the Southern Counties East Premier Division due to financial problems as not having a home ground in their own City saw them seemingly unable to continue.  Happily funding was found and Canterbury City withdrew their request and continued.

For the forthcoming season the club will ground share at Margate's Hartsdown Park which is around a 35 to 40 minute car journey and 30 mile round trip from Canterbury.

After finishing second from bottom in the SCEFL Premier Division last season Danny Lawrence's side will play in Division One for the 23/24 campaign.
