With just four games left to play the race for the title in The Pitching In Isthmian Premier Division is one of the most exciting we've seen in recent years. Just four points separate Bishop's Stortford at the top and Aveley in fourth position and it's those two teams who meet next Saturday at Parkside in a huge game!

Barring a dramatic loss of form three of the current top four should qualify for the play-offs with the champions being promoted leaving the fight for fifth place being between Enfield Town, Cray Wanderers, Lewes and possibly Horsham along with Hastings United. The Towners look to be in the strongest position with a four point cushion between themselves and Cray Wanderers who fought out a highly competitive 1-1 draw at the weekend.

There are most certainly some more twists and turns to happen in the coming weeks.

At the bottom of the table we saw Brightlingsea Regent's relegation confirmed on Saturday following their 0-2 defeat at home to Bowers & Pitsea. Corinthian-Casuals are clinging on with two narrow 1-0 wins in their last two games against Wingate & Finchley and Potters Bar Town.

The loyal fans of Brightlingsea Regent will be sad they have been relegated but they can take heart that a for a club of their size and resources to spend six seasons at step three of the non-league ladder is a tremendous achievement particularly when it was only a little over a decade ago the Essex side were playing at Step Seven of the pyramid in the Essex & Suffolk Border League.

Kingstonian's unexpected 1-3 win at Folkestone Invicta will really give The K's a boost but they are being pushed all the way by Bowers & Pitsea who have won their last two games. Herne Bay have also picked up form with three wins and a draw in their last six games.
