BELARUSIAN FOOTBALL WEEKEND PREVIEW

It's matchday three of the Premier League and matchday two of the First League in Belarus this weekend.

Firstly in this preview I'd like to give a mention to Dyussh-Polesgu who are new team in the Women's Premier League. They are based in the City of Pinsk and their young side (all of their players are under 20) did okay in the first two games of the season losing 1-3 to Dynamo Brest and 1-3 Bobruichanka before their game against Dynamo Minsk last Friday. Dynamo have won the title in each season since 2020 and have a number of players in their squad who represent the National Team. The result was 20-0!

I wish the players of Dyussh-Polesgu in their game this weekend with is the second leg of the women's cup First Round against Gomel - the aggregate score is currently 4-0 to Gomel.

In transfer news this week FC Minsk have announced the signing of another young player from Cameroon in defender Rufino Nkoa

He joins Dzenyagha Saagi at the club who played nine times in the Premier League last season.

The Premier League game of the weekend for me is on Sunday when Dynamo Brest host Slavia Mozyr who are both at the bottom of the table with no wins and no goals from two games played - Does this mean the game will end 0-0?

Also the youngsters of FC Minsk hosting BATE Borisov on Saturday - will 17 year old Timofey Martynov continue his scoring record of a goal per game?

Another game to look out for is Dynamo Minsk v Slutsk which is scheduled to be officiated by Viktor Shimusik who has shown a total of 12 yellow and 1 red card in his first two games of the season. Could we see the most bookings in this game?

Dynamo are one of three teams left on 100% winning records alongside Shakhtyor Soligorsk and Torpedo Belaz Zhodino.

In the First League relegated Vitebsk get their campaign underway with a home fixture against promoted Zhodino Yuzhnoe - Bumprom hosting DNEPR Mogilev should be another decent game as they both won their games on week one but like the Vitebsk game it could be an indciation as to where teams may end up in the talbe as DNEPR were Premier League last season with Bumprom in the Second League.
