PITCHING IN ISTHMIAN PREMIER DIVISION - THE SEASON SO FAR

TOP THREE

In the race for The Pitching In Isthmian Premier Division we've seen Enfield Town lose ground recently with just two wins in their last six games. Aveley have won their last seven games in a row with Bishop's Stortford having an impressive record of eight wins, one draw and one defeat from their last ten games. Hornchurch are unbeaten in six games with two defeats in their last ten.

Some may argue that The Urchins are slight favourites for the title as they have two games in hand over Bishop's Stortford and three over Aveley.

At this present time I personally think you can break the table down into the top three for the title race, fourth to eleventh for the race for the play-offs,  twelfth to seventeenth mid-table not going down or up and then eighteenth downwards for the relegation race. I'm mostly always proved wrong on my predictions and with lots of football to play I'm sure to be wrong!! With just over two months left of the regular season there are certainly more twists and turns to come especially in the race for the play offs as there are currently only five points between Canvey Island in fifth placed and Lewes in eleventh.

FOURTH TO ELEVENTH

TWELFTH TO SEVENTEENTH

At the bottom of the table it's not looking good for the current bottom four as there is now a six point gap between the drop zone and the rest followed by another four points to Margate who are currently in seventeenth place. It's going to take a real turn around of form if Bowers & Pitsea, Herne Bay, Corinthian-Casuals or Brightlingsea Regent want to be playing step three football for the 2023/24 season.

EIGHTEENTH TO TWENTY-SECOND

SOME STATISTICS ON THIS SEASON SO FAR

* BISHOP'S STORTFORD & HORNCHURCH ARE THE TOP SCORERS IN THE LAST TEN GAMES NETTING TWENTY-THREE GOALS EACH

* AVELEY HAVE ONLY CONCEDED FIVE GOALS IN THEIR LAST TEN GAMES WITH A VERY IMPRESSIVE SIX CLEAN SHEETS

* CORINTHIAN CASUALS ARE WITHOUT A WIN IN ELEVEN GAMES - THEY HAVE HAD TWO DECENT DRAWS IN THEIR LAST THREE AGAINST HORNCHURCH AND CANVEY ISLAND. COULD THEY TASTE VICTORY ON THEIR TRIP TO MARGATE THIS WEEKEND?

* THE ONLY TEAM LEFT WITHOUT A DEFEAT AT HOME ARE LEWES WHO HAVE WON EIGHT AND DRAWN SEVEN OF THEIR GAMES AT THE DRIPPING PAN.

* BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT ARE THE ONLY SIDE WITHOUT AN AWAY WIN. THE ONLY POSITIVE RESULTS THEY HAVE HAD ON THEIR TRAVELS ARE DRAWS AGAINST FELLOW STRUGGLER'S BOWERS & PITSEA AND HERNE BAY ALONG WITH A 3-3 DRAW AT MARGATE
