It's been a wonderful opening weekend to the local non-league season with some fantastic result. Special mention must go to Barkingside who were 3-1 down at Barkingside but scored two late goals to make the final score 3-3 in the Thurlow Nunn First Division South. Also Punjab United's 1-4 win away at K Sports in the Southern Counties East League.
I'm am giving THE COLD END team of the weekend as a joint award to Basildon Town and Stanway Pegasus who both recorded amazing wins on their debuts at Step Six of the non-league pyramid.
Basildon Town won 5-0 at home to Tower Hamlets and Stanway Pegasus went better beating Sporting Bengal United 7-0 at home where the visitors were reduced to nine men.
Congratulations to both clubs on their amazing start to the season.
Stanway Pegasus travel to Coggeshall United with Basildon Town at home to Burnham Ramblers in their next games both scheduled for Wednesday evening.
