EUROPA LEAGUE
RELEGATION PLAY OFF  (v 3rd in First League)
RELEGATION

It was the result of the season so far at the weekend in the Belarusian Premier League as Arsenal Dzerzhinsk caused a real shock winning 1-2 at table topper's BATE Borisov in front of 2,508 people at the Borisov Arena. Arsenal's winning goal came from former BATE player Evgeni Guletskiy.

Arsenal Dzerzhinsk were champions of the first league last season and struggled in their opening 11 league games in the top tier with no wins recorded. Something seems to have clicked in their last four games with wins over DNEPR Mogilev, Slavia Mozyr as well as BATE.

The result looks even more of a shock when you read that Arsenal scored just 1 goal in their 6 games away from home prior to the victory.

Isloch, managed by former BATE player and Assistant Manager Artem Radkov, are keeping the pressure on with three wins in a row.

The 2019 Champion's Dynamo Brest are struggling in the bottom two with just one victory and only nine goals scored in their 14 games played so far. Their win came against fellow struggler's Vitebsk.  They are the lowest scoring side in the division

SOME FACTS & STATS ABOUT THE SEASON SO FAR

* SHAKHTYOR SOLIGORSK have only conceded 2 goals in their 6 home league games with just 8 conceded overall. The 2020 and 2021 champions, currently in 6th place, have 2 games in hand over current table topper's BATE Borisov so could move ahead of them should they win both games. They are really struggling to hit the back of the net with any kind of frequency scoring just 16 times in their 13 games.

* NEMAN GRODNO are the draw specialists with 50% of their games ended all square so far. They have drawn 7 of their 14 games.

* No team has an unbeaten record at home.

* DNEPR MOGILEV are the only team without a victory away from home. They have recorded 3 draws in 8 trips on the road against ENERGETIK-BGU, SLUTSK and BELSHINA BOBRUISK.
