EGRI ERBSTEIN TOURNAMENT AT CORINTHIAN-CASUALS

Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July is set to be a fantastic weekend in Tolworth as Corinthian-Casuals host the second Egri Erbstein Tournament at their United Business Group Stadium with four club's competing with history and heritage dating back to when football was first played. 

The Tournament was organised by representatives from BAK and Corinthian-Casuals to honour the life and legacy of Ernő Egri Erbstein. Many fans won't know his name - You can learn all about his life from this article on the Corinthian-Casuals websiteThe Casuals won the first tournament in Budapest in 2019.  

The teams involved along with Corinthian-Casuals will be - 

Budapesti Atlétikai Klub who are more commonly known as BAK. The club were originally formed in 1900 and folded in 1947 until reformed in 2018. The history between BAK and The South London club dates back to 1904 when the then Corinthian Football Club visited Budapest to play a number of games. They currently play in the Sixth Tier of the Hungarian game.

Sheffield FC finished in 17th place of the Northern Premier League Division One (East) last season - they are recognised by FIFA as the oldest existing football club in World Football having been formed in 1857. 

The Fall River Marksmen were formed in 1922 as Fall River United and during the 1920s and 1930s were one of the most successful soccer teams in the USA. They only existed until 1931 when their franchise moved to New York. They provided opposition to travelling European teams throughout their short history. They were reformed in 2019 and currently play in the Eastern Premier Soccer League North-East Conference
