BIRD RESIGNS FROM KINGSTONIAN

Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division Kingstonian have announced that following discussions with the Board first team Manager Hayden Bird has resigned from the club.

He joined The K's in May 2019 after a successful spell with Merstham. During his time lead Kingstonian to 10th position in the 19/20 curtailed season where 31 games were played and 4th in 20/21 campaign where only ten games were played. Last season after a fantastic start The Ks dropped down to finish in 10th place again. They also reached the Second Round Proper of the FA Cup in the 19/20 season before losing at home to AFC Fylde.

What the club really need after leaving Kingsmeadow in 2017 is a home they can call their own. They have since shared with Leatherhead (24 mile round trip from Kingston), Corinthian-Casuals (6 mile round trip) and next season will play at Tooting and Mitcham United which is a 12 mile round trip.

It's been over two decades since The Ks played at Step One - their top finish was 5th in 99/00 in the then Conference with only Scarborough, Morecambe, Rushden & Diamonds and Kidderminster Harriers placed above them.  They also won the FA Trophy two years in a row in 1999 and 2000.
