THE TANNERS BUILDING A SQUAD LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK TO THE PREMIER DIVISION

Leatherhead's turn around in form following the appointment of Luke Tuffs as Manager in January was impressive but unfortunately it wasn't enough to stop The Tanner's relegation to Step Four for the 22/23 campaign in The Pitching In Isthmian League South-Central Division. The seventeen defeats they had in their first twenty-three games prior to Tuff's coming in was the main reason they didn't avoid the drop and also their goal scoring across the season which was only 43 - they had the worst goal scoring record level with also relegated Merstham.

The former Ashford Town and Knaphill manager has announced some impressive new signings and retained some of the players who were with the club last season.

A real eye catching signing is striker Dave Tarpey who spent last season with run away Isthmian South-Central title winner's Bracknell Town. He scored 19 goals in 30 games for The Robins which would of been higher had it not been for a couple of months out with an injury between January and early March. Tarpey is most well known for his spell with Maidenhead United between 2014 to 2017 scoring 95 goals in 141 league and cup games helping The Magpies move from The National League South to The National League. He then moved to then League Two side Barnet but suffered a serius ligament injury in only his second game for The Bees - Prior to his spell with Bracknell Town he was with Woking between 2019 to 2021. The experienced 33 year old will certainly help improve The Tanner's goals for column in the 22/23 season.

Tuffs have also signed goalkeeper Luke Williams from Hartley Wintney where he was on the coaching stuff. He also counts Harrow Borough, Met Police, Hereford United and Slough Town as former clubs having begun his career with Aldershot. He had been with the Southern League Premier South side since 2019.

Despite reported interest from clubs higher up the pyramid player/assistant manager Jermaine McGlashan will stay at the club he joined with Tuffs. The 33 year old midfielder started the 21/22 season with Vanarama South side Maidstone United. He had made 307 football league appearances in his career netting  21 goals.

Amongst the retained list are Captain Aaron Lamont, Mitchal Gough, Max Worsford and James O'Halloran
