REAL BEDFORD RECRUIT NEW MANAGER FOR 2022/23

Many headlines were made across the world in December 2021 when bitcoin podcaster and podcaster Peter McCormack announced he was purchasing the then Bedford FC of the Spartan South Midlands League Division One with ambitions to reach the Football League and Premier League.

It has been recently announced that the deal has now officially gone through and the 'transition  was a lengthy process to ensure that regulatory, legal and financial procedures have been undertaken with due care'.

So from next season the club that was known as Bedford FC will be known as REAL BEDFORD.

Since the proposed take over was announced in December the club parted company with Jason Goldman and his assistant Martin Wells who were replaced with former Arlesey Town and Bedford Town boss Nathan Abbey and former Bedford Town, St Ives Town and Biggleswade Town player Gavin Hoyte.

They left the club with three games to go with former Whitehawk, Bishop's Stortford, Concord Rangers and Barnet player Ahmed Abdulla taking over as caretaker manager.

It has since been announced that former football league midfielder Rob Sinclair is the club's new manager for the 22/23 season who was born and raised in Bedford. During his palying career he represented Luton Town, Stevenage, Forest Green Rovers, Oxford City and Bedford Town to name a few teams.

He was named as first team coach with Dunstable Town in October 2021 before moving to Eynesbury Rovers as Manager around a month later. He guided Rovers to a respectable ninth place finish in the United Counties League Premier Division South in the 21/22 season.

Sinclair's first signing for his new club is experienced midfielder Luke Knight who follows him from Eynesbury Rovers. He counts St Neots Town, Royston Town and Biggleswade Town as former clubs.

He started the 2021/22 season as Captain of Northern Premier League Midlands Division Cambridge City where he had been since October 2019.

I'm sure REAL BEDFORD will be making more headlines in the Spartan South Midlands League Division One next season.
