PITCHING-IN ISTHMIAN LEAGUE - WORTHING CLOSE TO THE TITLE AND RACE TO BEAT THE DROP HOTS UP

Worthing are within touching distance of The Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division title. The South Coast team are ten points ahead of currently second placed Bishop's Stortford in second place with just five more games to play.

Worthing need just 6 more points to be crowned league champions - that is depending on results of teams below them. In reality I think one more win would probably be enough for them.

In the race for the play-offs I think it's between Bishops Stortford, Enfield Town, Hornchurch, Lewes, Folkestone Invicta and Cheshunt for the four places with some teams having a better chance than others in respect of their current league position.

Kingstonian who are in eighth place on fifty-six points are now eleven points off the top five - Mathematically they can still get to seventy-one points but they would have to win all five of their remaining matches with Lewes, Folkestone Invicta and Cheshunt all only gaining just a few points in their games.

One of the games of the day on Saturday comes when Folkestone Invicta visit Bishop's Stortford with the visitors needing a win more than the home side who realistically know they are out of the title race with the aforementioned ten point gap.

TWO RELEGATION SIX-POINTERS THIS WEEKEND

At the bottom of the table things are getting exciting and also very nervy - East Thurrock United have made a bid to keep themselves out of the drop zone by winning their last two games in a row at Corinthian Casuals and at home to Potters Bar Town.  They host Merstham on Saturday who are currently in 18th place with a home win seeing The Rocks drawing level with The Moatsiders.

One more win for Wingate & Finchley on thirty-eight points should be enough to keep the North London side in the division for another season.

Cray Wanderers are under the new management of former Bromley boss Neil Smith who lost his first match in charge at home to Kingstonian last Saturday - The Wands have a huge game for both sides at Leatherhead on Saturday.
