EXCITING RACE FOR THE TITLE IN THE PITCHING-IN NORTH DIVISION

CANVEY ISLAND are sill top of the Isthmian League North Division but only just. They lost 0-1 at home to one of their title rivals for the second time in as many weekends yesterday with Stowmarket Town gaining a very valuable three points. DEREHAM TOWN who had won at The Frost Financial Stadium were 3-1 losers at HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS who recorded their third win a row where they have scored twelve goals.

AVELEY recorded an important victory over AFC SUDBURY winning 2-1 at Parkside in front of a crowd of 336 people.

BRENTWOOD TOWN lost their first league game in eight with a 1-2 home defeat to TILBURY

With just eight points between CANVEY ISLAND and HASHTAG UNITED in 11th place it really is shaping up to be a very exciting race for the play-off places and title.

STOWMARKET TOWN are the form side with no defeats in seven games and five wins in their last six. The Suffolk side could be in for a third promotion in six seasons - had it not been for the two curtailed seasons I think The Old Gold & Blacks would be playing in the Isthmian Premier Division this season. Their 0-1 win at Canvey was done so by playing with 10 men for the second half after debutant Erken Okay was red carded on 46 minutes - the midfielder has recently signed from Soham Town Rangers where he was also Assistant Manager. Jesse Nwabueze was also a debutant for Stowmarket in the game - He has recently joined on loan from Ipswich Town and was previously on loan at Bury Town in September and October.

Congratulations go out to HULLBRIDGE SPORTS who recorded their first league win for the season in a 1-2 at BARKING - Tony Stokes scored both goals.

ROMFORD have lost their last seven league games in a row - they were 1-2 up at Maldon & Tiptree yesterday but ended up losing 3-2. The Boro's last win was a 2-0 victory at home to STOWMARKET TOWN back on Saturday 16th October. They have only won three league games all season.

WITHAM TOWN opened their season with three wins in a row against GREAT WAKERING ROVERS, TILBURY and HULLBRIDGE SPORTS. They have since played 13 league games drawing 4 and losing 9.
