It was a bad day for Enfield Town in the top half of the division as they went down 2-1 to local rival's Cheshunt in front of a crowd of 966 at Theobalds Lane. The Towners went ahead through a Sam Youngs header on 12 minutes but The Ambers made it 1-1 on 17 minutes through Mo Camara. The visitors were the better side for the first half with two penalty shouts turned down by the referee and Percy Kiangebeni hitting the post.
ENFIELD TOWN'S GOAL AT CHESHUNT SCORED BY SAM YOUNGS
In the second half former Reading and Stevenage striker Rowan Liburd showed how clinical his finishing is as with his only chance of the game he scored to make it 2-1 and win a very important three points for his side.
Arguably it was a complete reverse of the game between the two rivals in August where Cheshunt were the better team and lost 1-0. This time Enfield Town had much more possession but came away with nothing to show from the game.
Worthing's game at Bognor Regis Town was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch but will be played tomorrow afternoon subject to the pitch being playable at Nyewood Lane.
Elsewhere Folkstone Invicta showed they are up for a fight in the title race with a 6-1 home win over Merstham in front of 836 people. There were six different scorers for Invicta with Matthew Newman, Joshua Vincent, Scott Heard, David Smith, Adam Yussuff and Lenny Atherton all netting. The home side were 5-0 when Michael Olarewaju was sent off for the visitors in only his second league game for the club having played for Chipstead in the South-East division earlier in the season.
Bishops Stortford (1-3 at Bowers & Pitsea) and Lewes (1-3 at Horsham) also won to continue their push for the play-offs. 1,284 people saw the game at Horsham where Joe Taylor continued his scoring form for The Rooks.
One of the best results of the day was Brightlingsea Regent's 2-1 home win over East Thurrock United in the relegation six pointer game with Aaron Blair scoring on his debut for the Brett Munyard's side. The Dagenham & Redbridge striker has joined on loan having previously spent some time with Cheshunt earlier in the season. Regent have now won three of their last six league games.
