VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE - NUMBERS & NEWS

BROMLEY are the form side over the last six games played - they have won all six in a row which have included 4 clean sheets too. Could it be The Ravens season and they follow their rival's Sutton United into the football league? The 2018 FA Trophy runner's up finished in their highest position ever last season (seventh) and lost out to Hartlepool United in the play-offs. Andy Woodman has been in charge since March this season after the departure of Neil Smith who had been in charge at Hayes Lane for five year.

DOVER ATHLETIC have yet to win this season with just three draws in their eleven games played which came at home to high flying Chesterfield (0-0), another 0-0 draw at home to Solihull Moors and a 1-1 draw away from home at Weymouth. With The Whites starting on -12 points this season - which they were deducted for failing to fulfil fixtures last season (we won't argue the rights and wrongs about it here) - it's looking like the Kent club will be back in the Vanarama South for the 22/23 season. They are a huge 17 points off of safety. They last played at Step Two in the 2013/14 season. There best finish in non-league's top division came in the 2015/16 when they finished fifth and lost to Forest Green Rovers in the play-off semi-final. It doesn't get any easier for Andy Hessenthaler's side as they face Stockport County at home on Saturday and have to travel back to Step Three side Yate Town tonight in an FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round replay after a 1-1 draw last weekend - the original game scheduled for Tuesday wasn't played due to floodlight issues.

STOCKPORT COUNTY were one of the pre-season favourites for the title and have made some real ripples in the division last week by signing League One Bolton Wanderer's Captain Antoni Sarcevic. The midfielder had helped his former club to promotion from the fourth tier and has also played in the football league for Crewe Alexandra, Fleetwood Town, Shrewsbury Town and Plymouth Argyle - The 29 year old has made 299 football league appearances in total. He made his debut for his new club in their 2-1 defeat at Notts County last weekend.

County have lost four games on their eleven played in the Vanarama National League which isn't good by their high standards - last season they lost only seven in their forty-two games played.

At 726 BOREHAM WOOD have the lowest average crowd in the division but they have consistently punched above their weight qualifying for the play-offs twice since they were promoted to the Vanarama National League - In 2018 they were so close to moving up to the football league losing to Tranmere Rovers in the play-off final at Wembley and in 2019 they lost to Harrogate Town in the semi-final.  Many people they wouldn't do as well this season with the loss of striker Kabongo Tshimanga to league rival's Chesterfield - He scored against his former club on Saturday in The Spireites 2-1 win.

WEALDSTONE have a had difficult start to their season with only two wins from twelve games played so far at Kings Lynn Town (currently 20th) and at home to Altrincham (9th) - they are without a win in four games in which they have only scored two goals and conceded eight goals - two of those games have ended all square though so all is not lost. They host table topping Grimsby Town tonight which should attract a decent crowd to Grosvenor Vale.

The pressure is on YEOVIL TOWN boss Darren Sarll - The Glovers are without a win six league games - they host WOKING tonight who are currently in 12th place.

With the take over of WREXHAM and some big names brought into their squad over the summer the Welsh club were favourites for the title (and they still are! - see below - I certainly wouldn't want to put my 10p on them) with many people but it's not gone according to plan so far. They are currently in 11th place - 13 points off the top - but do have games in hand over sides above them apart from Bromley. They travel to MAIDENHEAD UNITED tonight - The Magpies have struggled so far with just 3 wins in 11 games but a win tonight would put them just 2 points below Wrexham.
