The World's Greatest Cup Competition hasn't disappointed in today's Second Qualifying Round draw throwing up some very interesting ties. With Little Oakley going to Chelmsford City, Hebburn Town going to York City and a potential all Enfield tie it shows THE CUP still holds it's magic! Here is THE COLD END'S picks.
2 - YORK CITY v HEBBURN TOWN
Vanarama North v Northern Premier North West Division
The Hornets have moved up to Step 4 for the 2021/22 season and thanks to wins over Yorkshire Amateur and Ashton United now face a trip to former football league side York City who now ply their trade in the Vanarama North Division. Hebburn got to the 4th QR in 2011/12 losing to Gateshead and have lots of knockout football big game experience in recent times having got to the FA Vase 5th, final and Quarter-Final in the last three seasons. They are likely to be backed by good number of supporters who will make the 90 mile journey to York's new Community Stadium. Since their second relegation from the football league in 2016 The Minstermen have got to the first round on two occasions losing to Swindon Town and Altrincham.
Vanarama North v Midland Premier Division
The visitors have only played in the FA Cup since the 2019/20 and currently are members of the Step 5 Midland League Premier Division. They have beaten Rubgy Town and Anstry Nomads to get to this stage where they travel to Step 2 side Leamington. The Brakes haven't had the best of starts to their campaign so far winning just one game in their three played.
34 - BRAINTREE TOWN v BILLERICY TOWN
Vanarama South v Vamarama South
A huge all Essex game between the two step 2 rivals. A big crowd should be attendance at Cressing Road for this one. The home side have drawn 3 and won 1 game in the league so far with the visitors struggling towards the bottom of the table on 1 point from 4 games played.
38 - NORWICH UNITED v MILDENHALL TOWN
Thurlow Nunn Premier v Thurlow Nunn Premier
The Planters have never got past the 2nd Qualifying Round stage. The Hall have been there once before back in the 00/01 season when Grays Athletic beat them 0-2 at home. A huge chance for either side to win some much needed prize money and get into the 3rd Qualifying Round.
The visitors caused one of the shocks of the 1st Qualifying Round on Saturday with a 1-2 win over Step 3 side Royston Town. They have also beaten Yaxley and Wroxham to get to this stage.
Norwich United beat Long Buckby and Newmarket Town before another stand out result winning 1-4 at step 4 side Bury Town.
Vanarama South v Essex Senior League
The Melbourne Stadium hosts 'little' Little Oakley who back in 2016/17 were playing in the Essex and Suffolk Border League travel to one of the biggest non-league club's in Essex in only their second season competing in the FA Cup. Since promotion to Step 6 and now Step 5 their War Memorial Ground has been upgraded and improved. A fitting reward for all the hard work carried out behind the scenes could be a draw in this game and a home replay against The Clarets! The Acorns have nothing to lose in this game and will certainly enjoy their day out.
47 - ENFIELD TOWN v ENFIELD FC or HADLEY
Isthmian Premier v Essex Senior League or Spartan South Midlands Premier
What a huge game this could be IF Enfield FC win their replay against Hadley in midweek. I won't write too much about it for now as it would be disrespectful to Hadley FC who have a great squad and a huge chance to make it a Enfield Town v "The Only Senior Non-League side who currently play in Barnet" tie which will be equally as anticipated as a potential all Enfield tie.
48 - HITCHIN TOWN v CHESHUNT
Southern League Premier Central v Isthmian Premier
Their is likely to be a decent crowd at Top Field for this all Hertfordshire clash. The Canaries won 0-3 at Biggleswade Town to get this stage with The Ambers winning 0-2 at Brentwood Town.
60 - HANWELL TOWN v EASTBOURNE BOROUGH
Isthmian South Central v Vanarama South
Eastbourne Borough won't relish their trip to face The Geordies. The Sports have shipped 14 goals in 5 league games played so far.
61 - SUTTON COMMON ROVERS v JERSEY BULLS
Isthmian South Central v Combined Counties Premier
Rovers achieved one of the results of the round on Saturday with a 1-3 win at Isthmian Premier side Cray Wanderers. Their reward is home tie against the Jersey Bulls who have swept all aside in their FA Cup games so far this season. They have beaten Horsham YMCA 10-1 at home in front of 975, Newhaven away 0-4 and VCD Athletic 5-1 at home in front of 1,126 on Saturday.
73 - LONGLEVENS AFC v GLOUCESTER CITY
Hellenic Premier v Vanarama North
A proper local derby for the City of Gloucester as there is only a 3 mile trip for City to travel from their New Meadow Park home to Saw Mills End the home of Longlevens AFC. The capacity at Leven's home ground is around 600 people so this will be a sell out. 167 people saw their win against Alresford Town in the last round.
