Macclesfield FC who were after former football league side Macclesfield Town were wound up in 2020 have made an excellent start to their North West Counties League Premier Division season and have been pulling in some impressive crowds at Step Five level. The Silkmen are currently top of the table by five points with a game in hand over second placed Wythenshawe Town. Their average home crowd for their first six league games is 2,523 which currently beats Barrow, Forest Green Rovers, Crawley Town, Salford City and Harrogate Town's averages in League Two.

Their crowd of 3,004 for their game yesterday against Litherland REMYCA with the next biggest crowd in the division being 245 who saw Barnoldswick Town v Vauxhall Motors.

It's early days for Danny Whitaker's team but I can see them moving through the divisions at a rapid pace over the next few seasons.

Their next game in on Monday evening with a trip to Longridge Town.
