Sunday football in Central and North Hertfordshire has seen the Comet Stevenage Sunday Football League and Welwyn Hatfield Sunday League unfortunately lost in the past few years and the Hitchin Sunday League is now facing a battle to stay afloat due to a lack referees. With a number of the current officials retiring and only a few new ones coming through to replace them the league's existence is under threat.
It's been said that if they are unable to recruit new referees the league may have no option but to fold in the next few years.
