Enfield FC, who will continue to play at Bishops Stortford, for the forthcoming season have announced a number of signings over the past few days as Jamie Cureton looks to build an impressive looking squad for the Essex Senior League side.
Goalkeeper James Bansgrove who played with Saffron Walden Town and Dunmow Town in the Essex and Suffolk Border League has joined. The 26 year old played for football league side Colchester United between 2014 to 2016 and was first choice keeper for Walthamstow from 2018 to 2019. Another goalkeeper in Jack Willmott has re-signed for the club having made a number of appearances in last season's pandemic affected campaign. Another former Stow man in defender Benji Crilley has also signed. He counts Colney Heath, Ware, Chesham United and Hertford Town as former clubs. During his three season stay with The Generals from 2016 to 2019 he played under the now Enfield Town boss Andy Leese.
Jack Folan, a midfielder/defender, has also joined. He was with Colchester United and Stansted before playing with Walthamstow for the last three seasons.
More new signings are expected over the new few weeks - It looks like the club, who have finished 16th, 20th, 18th, 9th, 14th followed by 16th and 10th in the pandemic shortened/abandoned seasons, mean business and maybe one of the teams challenging for promotion for the 2021/22 campaign.
