CLASSIC FOOTBALL PROGRAMMES - MILTON KEYNES PART TWO

The above programme is from Milton Keynes City v Bedworth United which was on Saturday 5th January 1980.  The victory City had had on Boxing Day against Cambridge City (3-2) was their fiftieth in the Southern League at Manor Fields which had taken them eight and a half seasons to achieve which indicates how difficult the league had been for the club.

The next programme is for Milton Keynes FC with their unique badge which depicts the concrete cows sculptures by Canadian artist Liz Leyh which were createdv and exhibited in the town in 1978 - they are now resident at Milton Keynes Museum.

The pyramid maybe a nod towards The Point entertainment complex which was located in the town which when it was opened in 1985 appeared like a pyramid especially with the red neon lights which were illuminated at night. MKFC played in red and black stripes. The against Hatfield Town (in the Premier Division Cup 2nd Leg) was lost 0-2 with Martin and Valentine scoring for The Blue Boys. This would make the aggregate 1-3 as the first leg was drawn 1-1.
