I don't think many of the Marine fans or players thought they'd be welcoming Tottenham Hotspur to The Marine Travel Arena (aka Rossett Park) in the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup after their 2-1 win at home to Barnoldswick Town in the Preliminary Round back in September.
The fixture will grab the attention of football fans worldwide as Jose Mourinho brings his Spurs side to Crosby where Marine are based in Merseyside. In the history of the FA Cup there has never been a fixture where teams with a wider gap in places in the pyramid face each other - Spurs are currently top of the Premier League with Marine currently ninth in the Northern Premier League North West Division.
With all four non-league clubs drawn at home against Premier League and Championship sides it's probably the best Third Round for a number of years I think.
Let's hope some fans will be back inside the ground when the game gets played!
NON-LEAGUE TEAMS IN THE FA CUP - ROUND THREE
Boreham Wood v Millwall
Chorley v Derby County
Stockport County v West Ham United
Marine v Tottenham Hotspur
Over the last few years many fans have said the FA Cup has lots its magic which is clearly not the case!
