BUILDBASE FA VASE THIRD ROUND FIXTURES AND PREVIEW

Like the FA Trophy (Harrogate Town v Concord Rangers) we are still awaiting the 2020 Buildbase FA Vase final to be played between Consett AFC and Hebburn Town which has been postponed due to the pandemic. Both teams are in action in the 2020/21 competition this weekend in two of the games of the Third Round.

Hebburn Town host Vauxhall Motors in a rematch of their fourth round tie last season which The Hornets won 0-1 at Rivacre Park.

Consett AFC host two time runner's up West Auckland Town in one of two all EBAC Northern League games. The other tie sees Stockton Town (runner's up in 2018) hosting Shildon AFC who got to the semi-finals in 2012/13.

More locally there is a huge game when Hadley host Colney Heath which as you can see is likely to be a very close game looking at the two club's playing record so far this season - they do include two FA Vase draws which Colney Heath have had which they won on penalty kicks and two draws Hadley had in the FA Cup and FA Vase.

TEAM P W D L GF/GA GD CS
COLNEY HEATH   16  30/19  +11
HADLEY   12  27/11  +16

There will be definitely three step six sides in the third round as Fakenham Town play MK Irish, Mulbarton Wanderers host Ampthill Town and United Services Portsmouth host Millbrook.

The Fakenham Town v MK Irish game is a great game in prospect as both teams beat step five teams who were expected to do well in the competition in the last round. MK Irish won on penalty kicks after a 3-3 draw at Wroxham with The Ghosts also winning on spot kicks against Hashtag United after a 0-0 draw. Both teams are currently top of their divisions.

Leighton Town who were knocked out at the quarter-final stage last season (and in 17/18) will also be looking forward to their home game with Gorleston of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.  Gorleston's best ever run came in the 2002/03 season when they reached the fifth round losing to Bridlington Town.
United Services Portsmouth host Millbrook at The Victory Stadium in the other all step six game. The ground is a little over one mile away from Fratton Park so I'm sure they'll be a decent crowd for this game.
