What a game it's set up to be next weekend when Shakhtyor Soligrosk host BATE Borisov in a top of the table clash and more than likely title decider in the Belarusian Premier Division. Dynamo Brest drew 1-1 at Slavia Mozyr - They had to wait until the 89th minute to score their goal - these dropped points make their outside chance of winning the the title into more of a remote possibility I would say.

Shakhtyor warmed up for the big game with a comfortable 1-5 victory at Belshina who are now seven points off safety after Slutsk won 0-2 at Energetyk. Belshina's game at Slavia Mozyr is now a must win for them in the fight against relegation.

The game between BATE and Shakhtyor at the Borisov Arena earlier in the season was a entertaining one and ended 2-2 with Pavel Nekhaychik and Maksim Skavysh scoring for BATE. Igor Ivanovic and Dmitri Podstrelov scored for Shakhtyor.

Since then alot has happened at Shakhtoyr - they have lost their centre forward Vitali Lisakovich who scored nine goals in eighteen games for them before moving to Russian Premier League side Lokomotiv Moscow in August for a reported fee of 1.1m euros. The 22 year old Belarusian International has since played and scored in the Champions League for his new club.

They have also lost their mananger with former Astana (Kazakhstan Premier League) boss Roman Hryhorchuk coming in for the departing Yuriy Vernybub who left in August along with his coaching and back room team.

Jaserbek Yakhsibaev has come in and has scored seven goals in 8 starts and 2 substitute appearances since the start of July. He spent the first part of the season with Energetyk. Hryhorchuk has also recruited Brazilian midfielder Diego Carioca from Vitebsk and Democratic of Congo Junior Kabanaga amonst other players.

Prior to the big top of the table clash there is the equally huge game as all eyes will be on the City Stadium in Slutsk as Gorodeya visit for a game which will probably decide who will finish third from bottom of the table and play off against the thrd placed team in the first league.

Both teams have hit some form at the right time - Slutsk will be in good spirits following their 0-2 win at the weekend. Russian Dmitri Sasin scored his first two goals for the club since his move from Russian second tier side Tomsk. Sasin, 24, plays with some swagger in between attack and midfield and wears his socks low down - He reminds me of Jack Grealish of Aston Villa.

Gorodeya sprang a real surprise result at Neman Grodno (0-1) and thrashed Smolevichy 4-0 in their last games played - this was after losing to first league side Arsenal Dzerzhinsk in the Cup.
