BUILDBASE FA VASE UPDATE


The Buildbase FA Vase returns on Saturday 5th December and all being well some games will be played with fans present although this has not been confirmed at present with the reintroduction of the tier systems and where non-elite sport (below step three) will stand. Here are the fixtures that are due to take place. 

First Round

Second Round

This is a really exciting game in prospect which could be the final giving the two teams record in the competition. It's definitely the tie of the round!
Hebburn Town are sill waiting to play Consett in the 2020 final at Wembley and reached the fifth round in 18/19 where they lost to West Auckland Town. The visitors won the Vase in 2015 with a 2-1 win over Glossop North End in front of 9,674 at Wembley. At present Hebburn are top of the EBAC Northern League Division One with just one league defeat and eleven wins in twelve games played - North Shields are currently in fourth place winning eight, drawing two and losing one of their games place.  The only defeat for Hebburn Town so far was against North Shields who won 3-2 at home Wednesday 30th September in front of 150 people

Consett AFC v Maltby Main 
The other 2020 finalists are Consett who are currently in third position of the EBAC Northern League Premier Division. The visitors are currently in seventh place of the Toolstation Northern Counties Premier Division - Reaching the second round this season equals their best ever performance in the Vase which was in 15/16 where they lost to Seaham Red Star.

Another great game in prospect as 2018 semi-finalists host the 2012 and 2014 finalists and 18/19 quarter finalists. Town are currently mid table in the EBAC Northern League Division One with 1874 in eighth place of the North West Counites League Premier Division.

Sutton Common Rovers v Southall 
to be played on Sunday 6th December - Sutton Common had an excellent run in last season's competition before narrowly losing at Bitton in the fifth round. 1986 finalist's Southall had an impressive run in the 16/17 competition reaching the quarter-final where they lost at home to Cleethorpes Town. This is an all Combined Counties Premier Division game which see's SCR, currently top, hosting Southall who are currently in third place.
