London Colney v Crawley Green
Potton United v Colney Heath
Tring Athletic v Oxhey Jets
The Premier Division game of the weekend sees Colney Heath (six wins, two draws and no defeats) travel to Potton United (five wins, one draw and one defeat) - A point for The Magpies could see them go top of the table depending on the results of Eynesbury Rovers and Harefield United. The visitors away form has been impressive with three wins and 10 goals scored - they have conceded five so there could be goals in this one. The Royals have three wins and one defeat at The Hollow so far scoring 12 and letting in 7.
Harefield United v Biggleswade United is also a clash between two of the early season front runners.
THE GRASS ROOTS STADIUM ON TUESDAY EVENING (PHOTO - @RussWWFC) Colney Heath are the only side left without a defeat with Dunstable Town and London Colney still awaiting their first win. Tring Athletic got their first win of the season on Tuesday evening thanks to a 3-1 win against London Colney - they host Oxhey Jets on Saturday looking to beat the 106, 110 and 100 crowds they have had so far in their league games at The Grass Roots Stadium - they have an offer for free entry for any one who was under the age of 18 at the start of the current academic year which will hopefully get some younger people involved and is great to see.
In league fixtures only Lewis Putman is rolling back the years* by scoring 11 goals so far for Oxhey Jets in just 7 games played. He is followed by James Hatch (Eynesbury Rovers) and Aaron McCardle (Potton United) who are both on 8 goals.
* For those not in the know he scored an incredible 81 goals in 52 games for the Jets in the 2012/13 season. He went on to sign for Wealdstone who were then in the Isthmian Premier but unfortunately suffered an Anterior Cruciate injury in a pre-season friendly which put him out for the whole of the 2013/14 campaign. He has since played for Hanwell Town, Barton Rovers, Aylesbury United, Slough Town, Hayes & Yeading United, Met Police, Beaconsfield Town, Dorking Wanderers, North Greenford United and Kings Langley but is now back where his career began banging in goals at The Boundary Stadium.
DIVISION ONE
Amersham Town v Hillingdon Borough
Bedford v New Salamis
Enfield Borough v Milton Keynes Irish
London Lions v London Tigers
Park View v Ampthill Town
Shefford Town & Campton v Rayners Lane
St Panteleimon v Buckingham Athletic
Stotfold v Winslow United
The early season table in Division One sees Buckingham Athletic and Shefford Town & Campton lead the way closely followed by Bedford who have a game in hand and are the only side left without a defeat.
Many people thought St Panteleimon would setting the pace this season but they have lost their last two games in the league and in the FA Vase at Rothwell Corintihians. Buckingham Athletic travel to North London to play them on Saturday in one of the games of day - It'll be the biggest test for Athletic with The Saints looking to get back to winning ways.
At the bottom of the table Hillingdon Borough and London Tigers haven't got a point yet - Hillingdon lost 10-0 at Enfield Borough last weekend who will be confident they can give MK Irish at game at home. The Irish have made an excellent start to their season only dropping points in a defeat at home to Ampthill Town and a draw at Stotfold. Mason Spence has been in superb form for MK scoring 9 goals in 9 league and cup games.
Shefford Town & Campton's Jonny McNamara is top scorer hitting the net an impressive 14 times in just 7 league games played. The former Hitchin Town, Hemel Hempstead Town and Biggleswade Town player will be looking to add to this total in their home game against Rayners Lane on Saturday.
DIVISION TWO
Aston Clinton v MK Gallacticos
Berkhamsted Comrades v Bovingdon
Berkhamsted Raiders v Sarratt
Buckingham United v Totternhoe
Codicote v Pitstone & Ivinghoe
New Bradwell St Peter v Tring Corinthians
The 61 FC (Luton) v Old Bradwell United
The game of the day in Division Two is no doubt Codicote (4 wins from 4) entertianing Pitstone & Invinghoe (3 wins in 3) - The Cod Army had a fantastic 4-1 home win against Berkhamsted Comrades last weekend in front of a great crowd of 109 people. Perry Price has been in good form for them scoring 6 goals so far. Pitstone go into the game with confidence following their 1-5 win at Mursley United last weekend - It would be great to see a bigger crowd than the 109 last weekend at The John Clements Sports Centre.
The 61 FC (Luton) are bottom of the table with three defeats - they are still looking for their first win since Saturday 22nd December 2018! Who knows it could come this weekend against Old Bradwell United.
