SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE WEEKEND FIXTURES

PREMIER DIVISION
Arlesey Town v Tring Athletic
Aylesbury Vale Dynamos v Edgware Town
Colney Heath v Baldock Town
Crawley Green v Leighton Town
Eynesbury Rovers v Broadfields United
Harefield United v Newport Pagnell Town
Harpenden Town v London Colney
North Greenford United v Biggleswade United
Oxhey Jets v Dunstable Town

TheColdEnd game of the day in the Premier Division comes at The Recreation Ground as two teams expected to do well this season clash when Colney Heath host Baldock Town. The home side have won both of their league games so far but were knocked out of the FA Cup by New Salamis and had to rely on penalty kicks to get past Thurlow Nunn First Division South side Wivenhoe Town in the FA Vase last Saturday after a 0-0 draw.

Baldock Town lost in the FA Cup on penalty kicks to St Margaretsbury before playing three league games so far - A win (1-4 at Aylesbury  Vale Dynamos), a draw (1-1 at Dunstable Town) and a home 1-3 defeat to Leighton Town last weekend.

Leighton Town are the only SSMFL side left in this season's Emirates FA Cup after their comfortable 4-0 home win over Mildenhall Town on Tuesday evening in front of decent 170 crowd at Bell Close - they are back in league action on Saturday when they make the short journey to Luton to play Crawley Green.

DIVISION ONE
Ampthill Town v New Salamis
Enfield Borough v Bedford
London Lions v Buckingham Athletic
Rayners Lane v Amersham Town
Shefford Town & Campton v Park View
St Panteleimon v London Tigers
Stotfold v Milton Keynes Irish
Winslow United v Langford

In Division One New Salamis go to Ampthill Town. The visitors ran Step Four Brentwood Town very close in the FA Cup on Monday night in front of a huge crowd of 325 at Coles Park. Brentwood have a number of players in their squad with experience playing higher up the non-league pyramid and are expected to be right up challenging at the top of the Isthmian League North Division this season.

Ampthill Town will be no push overs though as they have been free-scoring in their two games played so far this season. A 4-1 home victory over Dunstable Town in the FA Vase in front of another good crowd of 171 and a 3-5 victory on Tuesday at MK Irish in the league.

London Tigers have a very tough away game for their first of the season travelling to St Panteleimon. The Tigers will want to be better in defence than in their FA Vase game last weekend where they lost at home to United Counties League side Northampton ON Chenecks. The Saints will play their home games at Enfield Town's Queen Elizabeth Stadium this season.

Bedford FC have had two good results at home with a 3-2 win over Park View and a 2-0 defeat of Stotfold in midweek - they go to Enfield Borough on Saturday who will be in a confident mood following their FA Vase victory over Tower Hamlets last weekend.

STOTFOLD v (the then) MK ROBINS IN FEBRUARY 2020 PRIOR TO LOCKDOWN. THE GAME ENDED 3-0 - WILL THE MK IRISH HAVE BETTER LUCK ON SATURDAY?

DIVISION TWO
Aston Clinton v Berkhamsted Comrades
Bovingdon v Totternhoe
MK Gallacticos v Old Bradwell United
New Bradwell St Peter v Pitstone & Ivinghoe
Sarratt v Mursley United
The 61 FC (Luton) v Codicote
Tring Corinthians AFC v Berkhamsted Raiders

In Division Two the local derby between Tring Corinthians (2-1 winners at home to Berkhamsted Comrades on the opening day) and Berkhamsted Raiders (thrashed The 61 FC (Luton) 7-1 with former Bovingdon player Scott Bullock scoring a hat-trick) looks a good game in prospect.
