WHAT HARTSDOWN PARK MAY LOOK LIKE IN THE FUTURE AND A NEW PLAYER FOR THE GATE

Here are some images of what Isthmian Premier Division side Margate FC's Hartsdown Park may look like in the future after the new planning application for the development was submitted to Thanet District Council in partnership with IHG Hotels and the brand Holiday Inn Express. If the planning application is passed it will provide the local community with a first class sporting hub.

There has also been player movement both in and out of the Kent club over the past few weeks as Manager Jay Saunders looks to shape his squad for the forthcoming 20/21 season.

Michael Abnet, Dan Johnson, Adem Ramaden, Kadell Daniel, Elliott Reeves and Chris Sessengnon have all left the club along with assistant manager Mike Sandmann who is replaced by Jamie Coyle (who will be player assistant manager) who joins from South-East Division side Hythe Town where he was a player last season. Coyle was a coach at Maidstone United when Saunders was in charge and counts Welling United and Dartford as former clubs.

Winger/Forward Daniel was a fan's favourite since joining firstly on loan from Dover Athletic in 2019 and then on a full time basis for the 19/20 season. The 26 year old came through the Crystal Palace academy and has 11 full International caps for Guyana to his name.

So far from last season's squad Captain Ben Swift, Jay Porter, Noel Leighton, Jordy Robins, Reece Prestedge, Liam Friend and Jack Richards will be playing for The Gate in the 20/21 season.

John Ufuah, a 21 year old winger, has signed from South-East Division side Whitstable Town. He scored 4 times in 34 times for The Oystermen last season and has also played for Leatherhead, Three Bridge and Dartford in his career so far.
