FIRST LEAGUE

Granit 1 Arsenal 2 (100)
Khimik Svetlogorsk 0 Krumkachy Minsk 4 (175)
Gomel 2 Lokomotiv Gomel 3 (1,850)

It was another exciting weekend of games across Belarus with probably the stand out result coming in Slutsk who beat Belshina 3-2 to go top of the Premier League table. Slutsk went in at half time 2-1 up thanks to goals from Umar Bala and Artyom Serdyuk with Leonid Kovel scoring just prior to the break. Belshina equalised on 52 minute via Pavel Bordukov only for Bala to score the winner in the 88th minute. An indication of the crowds being down due to the current situation regarding Covid-19 is highlighted by the 492 attendance for this game compared to the 1,450 who saw Slutsk beat Dynamo Minsk on game week six last season.

BATE Borisov made it four games unbreaten with a 0-2 win at Gorodeya with Stanislaw Drahun and Anton Saroka (who are both Belerusian Internationals) scoring the goals.

It was no surprise to see the two teams with the best defensive records in Torpedo Zhodino and Rukh Brest ending 0-0. Both have now let in just two goals in their six games played so far. Torpedo have had five clean sheets with their two let in against Dynamo Minsk which they lost 2-0. Rukh have had four clean sheets with 1-0 defeats against Energetyk and BATE Borisov.

Isloch had a great home win against Vitebsk with Momo Yansane netting once again. The Guinean centre forward who is a real fan's favourite amongst The Wolves loyal supporters after joining the club permanently after a loan spell last season.

At the bottom of the Premier League table it's Belshina and Smolevichy who currently occupy the drop-zone. They are the only sides left with no wins to their name so far.

KLENJE SCORES THE WINNER IN THE GOMEL DERBY AGAINST HIS FORMER CLUB

There was a derby game in the First League with Gomel (who were relegated from the top tier last season) hosting Lokomotiv Gomel in front of a 1,850 crowd and it sounded like a really good game. Lokomotiv got their second win in a row with a 2-3 win. It's been a great start for Lokomotiv who finished in fourth place last season. Their scorers were former Dynamo Brest and Torpedo Zhodino player Andrey Solovey (pen 9mins), Andrey Khukarenok (36) and Pavel Klenje just prior to half time - Klenje has only just moved from Gomel to Lokomotiv - He was an unused sub six times last season for them!. Artsyom Vaskov got both of Gomel's goals who was with Gorodeya in the Premier League last season.

In the Second League Group A Chakya Zelva travelled to Stenles Pinsk. The game was going to be cancelled as the visitors had no bus or transport to get to the game but they managed to get ten men to start the match. They played the second half with just eight men which shows why the end result was 15-0 with three players from Pinsk netting hat-tricks.
