THE EAGLES LOOK FAVOURITES FOR A SECOND LEAGUE TITLE IN A ROW

POS TEAM P GD PTS PPG FORM
1 SANDRIDGE ROVERS  15 +12 29 1.93 LWDDWW
2 LETCHWORTH GARDEN CITY EAGLES  10 +21 28 2.50 WWWWW

Everyone involved with The Eagles will certainly be taking each game as it comes but looking at the Hertfordshire Senior County League Premier Division table they have a really good chance of winning the title for a second season in a row. They have won nine and drawn one of their ten league games played so far with their only dropped points coming in their opening game against Cockfosters Reserves.

The club were denied promotion to step six last season due to the Football Association rating that their Pixmore home didn't meet the criteria required to move upwards. Work was started and was due to be completed by the end of May but this was not considered by the FA despite the league recommending that the club, formed in 1979, was given some time.

Their nearest challengers are Sandridge Rovers who have dropped points recently in draws against Royston Town Reserves and Ware Sports along with most crucially a defeat to Letchworth Garden City Eagles.

Former Welwyn Garden City striker Ashley Kersey has scored 13 goals for The Eagles so far this season. Harry Seeby (9) and former Hatfield Town manager Jason Beck (8) are top scorers for Rovers. Beck was Hatfield's manager last season when he signed Kersey who made a handful of appearances for the then SSMFL Division One side.

Sandridge Rovers visit Hatfield Town on Saturday with The Eagles visiting New River Athletic.
