NORTH GREENFORD UNITED & LEIGHTON TOWN STILL WITHOUT A WIN IN THE SSMFL PREMIER

It's been a tough season for North Greenford United so far as they are bottom of the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division with just one point gained in their nine league games played. The point came in a 1-1 draw at home to Arlesey Town. They did have a decent 2-1 FA Cup replay victory over Tuffley Rovers after a 1-1 draw away from home and a league challenge trophy victory at Wodson Park but so far there have been no league wins.

They were knocked out of the FA Vase by Oxhey Jets so tomorrow take a trip to Harpenden Town who are currently eighth in the table.

Leighton Town have played one less game but also have only one draw to their name which ironically also came against Arlesey Town in only their second game of the season. They also had a decent FA Cup run with wins over Thornbury Town and Thame United before a defeat to Lowestoft Town. They have won in the league challenge trophy at Broadfields United and the premier division cup against Oxhey Jets as well as Vase victories against Bugbrooke St Michaels and Long Crendon. They are in Vase action tomorrow before a midweek home game against Leverstock Green and then the big bottom of the table clash next weekend when North Greenford United welcome them to Berkeley Fields.

NGU host Enfield FC on Tuesday evening in the Middlesex Senior Cup.
