BEDFORDSHIRE COUNTY LEAGUE GROUND HOP ON NON-LEAGUE DAY

Every day is a non-league day on The Cold End but this Saturday is national non-league day with supporters up and down the country encouraged to pay their local club a visit and give them some much needed support. There are many special events taking place at grounds up and down the country including the Road to Wembley as the the First Round of the Buildbase FA Vase.

The Bedfordshire County League stages it's annual ground-hop day with games staged at 10.30am, 1.45pm and 4.15pm.

All of the games on the hop are Division Three supported by Hy-Pro games starting with Real Haynes v Blunham where there will be a beer tent, breakfast food and refreshments. The game takes place at Haynes Village Hall, Northwood End Road in the village of Haynes (Post Code MK45 3QB). The club was set up by current Chairman Gary Sales to help him with his recovery with Bladder Cancer and the club's charity partner will be "fight bladder cancer charity" so it's an event definitely worth attending.

It could be a real high scoring game if Blunham's games have been anything to go by so far this season. They have lost league games 0-5 (v Harlington Juniors),  2-7 (v Luton All Stars) and then 0-14 against Stopsley United. Incredibly they follwed this up with a 17-2 victory over Division Four side Revivalists in the Beds FA Junior Cup - Last week they lost 4-3 to Stevington Reserves.

Real Haynes results have been 3-3, W 3-1, L 0-6, L 1-5 and L 1-6.
You can stick around in the beer tent after the first team game and check out the Division Four game between Real Haynes Reserves v Bedford Albion 'A' at 1.45pm or move on to Stopsley United v Harlington Juniors which takes place at Luton Sixth Form college at Bradgers Hill Road, Luton, LU2 7EW.

The third game is at 4.15pm at Dunstable Town Cricket Club in Totternhoe (Post Code LU6 1QP) between Lancot Park and Luton Allstars Football Club.

Let's hope the weather in Bedfordshire is good and a great day is had by all!

If you are in Middlesex close to Heathrow airport there is also a chance for a double header as at 3pm Bedfont and Feltham take on Colliers Wood United in the Buildbase FA Vase First Round and then at 7.30pm their tenant's British Airways host table topping Jersey Bulls in the Combined Counties League Division One. The Bulls could make it eleven wins in a row with a win. With lots of other games taking place locally i'm sure the crowd for the second game will be a decent one.
