Two forthcoming fixtures stand out and look like they could be pivotal in the Thurlow Nunn First Division South title race. On Saturday 30th March Hashtag United travel to Halstead Town and then the following week Halstead Town travel to White Ensign.
The current league leaders had many doubters in their first season in non-league football but have brought many new fans and interest to the game and I think have been a breath of fresh air in the game at this level. Many clubs have had huge increases in crowds when they have played Hashtag with Benfleet having 610 compared to 54 in their next home game and Wivenhoe Town getting 267 in comparison to 38 in their next home game. Even their midweek friendly game at Brentwood Town attracted a decent crowd of 251 which was 115 more than their league game against Romford on Saturday!
It's a top v bottom game on Saturday at Coles Park as Hashtag welcome Fire United who have let in 28 goals in their last six league games and scored only 2 goals in the process.
