ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE TABLE
BOTTOM FOUR ONLY
POS | TEAM | P | GD | PTS | FORM |
17 | SOUTHEND MANOR | 25 | -11 | 22 | WLLDDL |
18 | TOWER HAMLETS | 26 | -18 | 22 | WLLLLD |
19 | BARKINGSIDE | 27 | -38 | 16 | WDDLWL |
20 | LEYTON ATHLETIC | 25 | -34 | 15 | DLDDLL |
The bottom two of the Essex Senior League are due to be relegated at the end of the season but the second from bottom side could be reprieved if there are issues with teams in other areas of the pyramid.
Barkingside and Leyton Athletic currently occupy the bottom two places. I saw Barkingside lose 4-1 at Woodford Town on Tuesday evening in which they played well and if they had a little more luck in front of goal the result could of be alot closer - highlights to follow soon.
New 'Side manager Alex Goldstone has brought in some new players and results have improved since his appointment so i'm sure Tower Hamlets and Southend Manor are looking over their shoulders even though there currently a six point gap and they have games in hand.
Saturday Fixtures for the current bottom four
Southend Manor v Stanway Rovers (12th)
Sporting Bengal (7th) v Tower Hamlets
St Margaretsbury (8th) v Leyton Athletic
West Essex (10th) v Barkingside
All four teams are on their travels this weekend sort of. Tower Hamlets play the Mile End Derby against Sporting Bengal United who they share their home ground with - this should be a well attended game with lots of local interest.
