Dorking Wanderers have hit form when it matters - they have won their seven league games and are unbeaten in ten league games. It was a great day for them yesterday as they won 7-1 at home to Kingstonian in front 713 people at Meadowbank and saw their fellow title challenger's Haringey Borough lost at Carshalton 3-1 with former Enfield Town striker Harry Ottaway score for The Robins. It was Borough's third defeat in their last six league games - a run of form which has put a dent in their title aspirations. There is now a thirteen point gap between Wanderers and Bognor Regis Town currently in third place - Haringey Borough visit The Rocks in two weeks time.
In the last six league games played Dorking have netted twenty-two times and let in four compared to Haringey's record of scoring nine and letting in eleven.
It's certainly not all over and no one at Dorking Wanderers will be thinking that as there are still 16 games and 48 points to play for but if they are champions it will be their fifth promotion in just nine seasons. Only as recently in the 2010/11 campaign they were members of the Sussex County League Division Three.
