IT'S GOOD TO SEE WOODFORD UNITED ON THE WAY BACK UP

Woodford United left the Southern League at the end of the 2012/13 after a season of forty-two defeats in as many matches and then in the 2013/14 campaign they played two steps below in the United Counties League Division One winning just one league game of forty-two played letting in 223 goals!

The Northamptonshire side had better seasons in 14/15 and 15/16 finishing 14th in both before winning just three of thirty-six games in 2016/17. They then dropped down into the Northants Combination Premier Division for the 2017/18 campaign and finished eighth of thirteen teams.

This season United are sitting top of the table eight points ahead of their nearest challengers 'Kettering Nomads' who have four games in hand. The two title challengers face off against each other in a few weeks time on Saturday 16th February which should be a great game.

Nomads have games in hand due to their continuing participation in the Northamptonshire FA Junior Cup. It's a great day for the league tomorrow as three teams are represented in the Semi-Final. Nomads host United Counties League Division One side Sileby Rangers whilst James King Bilsworth entertain Harpole.
