The fact just nine points seperate top of the table Haringey Borough and Bishop's Stortford in seventh place indicates how close the battle for the Premier Division title and the race for the play-offs will be.

The current table topper's ten match winning run in league fixtures was ended yesterday when they drew 2-2 at home to Merstham in front of 333 people. Former Dulwich Hamlet player Kershaney Samuels scored to make it 2-2 with a 72nd minute penalty which he calmly placed to Valery Pajetet's right hand side with just a one step run up.

The Moatsider's are unbeaten in four games having won their previous three prior to the game at Coles Park yesterday. They are only six points off of fifth position so could easily be involved in the play-offs if their good form continues. Their game at home to Kingstonian on New Years Day is a really important fixture for both clubs.

One of those wins for Hayden Bird's side came against Dorking Wanderers who got back to winning ways at home to Leatherhead yesterday in front of a bumper 1,529 crowd at Meadowbank. Their goals came from former Woking striker Guiseppe Sole and substitute James McShane.

After a very poor November (and beginning of December) where they drew one and lost four league games Enfield Town are back to winning ways. Their 1-2 local derby win against Potters Bar Town was their fourth in a row - the recent acquisitions of striker Muhammadu Faal (from Kingstonian) and central defender Marc Weatherstone (from Wingate and Finchley) could well be key signings. The experience Weatherstone brings to the back four could prove invaluable as well as his knack of scoring goals - He scored the winner yesterday in the 87th minute of a game in front of a record 504 crowd at Potters Bar.

Town's next game is at home to Lewes who are in fourth place currently - they host Burgess Hill Town in a Sussex Derby on New Years Day at The Dripping Pan. The Hillians are still in the bottom three but two wins in two games against Carshalton Athletic and Worthing have given them hope of having a better second half to their campaign.

Kingstonian in fifth place have a massive game away at Bishop's Stortford this coming Saturday after their New Years Day game against Merstham.

Worthing, currently in sixth, could arguably be in the best place to challenge the current table topper's with their three games in hand over Haringey Borough.

After starting the season so well it's been an awful run of form of late for Tonbridge Angels who were challenging for the title but now find themselves well off the pace in ninth position. From winning eight of their first eleven games they have now only won two of their last eleven games. Striker Alex Read, who was signed from Harlow Town over the summer, has only scored ten goals in twenty-eight league and cup games with the last time he hit the back of the net coming back on Saturday 27th October in the Buildbase FA Trophy against Whyteleafe.

At the bottom of the table it's Whitehawk, Harlow Town and the aforementioned Burgess Hill Town who currently occupy the bottom three. The Hawks were 2-0 up against AFC Hornchurch yesterday but ended up losing 2-4 thanks to a Sean Marks hat-trick and Jay Porter scoring for The Urchins.

Whitehawk will be looking to get the all important three points against Bognor Regis Town on New Years Day. They will be encouraged by their 1-3 win last time at Margate where Jason Williams scored twice. Williams spent last season with Bishops Stortford and Kingstonian - He did play 13 times for football league side Southend United between 2014 to 2017.
