NO GOALS BETWEEN COLNEY HEATH AND CODICOTE

It was Spartan South Midlands League Division One v Premier Division tonight as Codicote played Colney Heath in a pre-season friendly at Kimpton Recreation Ground.

Colney Heath had drawn 1-1 on Saturday against London Lions in a game which saw eleven debuts for The Magpies so this was their second pre-season game. Manager Ryan Thompson told his team tonight that he was looking for player's fitness and was looking at them as people and the decisions they make during the game and the players learning to organise and communication with each other.

Thompson has been in charge of Colney Heath since November 2016 - his team finished 18th in that season and then improved to 11th place last season.

Codicote are under the new management of Elliot Smith who will be assisted by James Smithson and Kevin Cahill. Smith has played for Ampthill Town, Harpenden Town and London Colney during his career. It was their first pre-season friendly for the 2018/19 season. There team was apparently made up of lots of new players and trialists.

The final score was 0-0 with Codicote hitting the angle of post and bar in the first half. Below are some match pictures -
