HARROW BOROUGH STILL PROVING DOUBTERS WRONG

Before the Bostik Premier season kicked off Harrow Borough were rated at 100/1 rank outsiders for the title. The Middlesex club were reprieved from relegation (due to the voluntary demotion of Worcester City) during the summer having finished in the bottom four at the end of 16/17. They had only gained three points from the last twenty-seven available last season.

It's been a remarkable transformation of form by Steve Barker's side as following their 2-0 home victory against Tonbridge Angels yesterday they are now proudly the only Premier Division side left with a 100% winning record.

They next travel to Hendon for a local derby Bank Holiday Monday fixture before an Emirates FA Cup tie at fellow Bostik Premier side Enfield Town that is huge for both clubs on Saturday.

Harrow Borough have a good recent record in the competition reaching the First Round Proper last season where they lost to football league side Northampton Town. Also in 2010 they got to the same stage where they lost at home to Chesterfield.

Enfield Town's best run came in 2015/16 when they reached the Fourth Qualifying Round only to be beaten by Chesham United who were then manager by their new boss Andy Leese. Chesham then famously went on to beat Bristol Rovers 0-1 away before losing to Bradford City - last season they also got to the First Round Proper losing to Peterborough United.

Several of the team that featured in Chesham's famous run of 15/16 now play for Enfield Town including Sam Youngs and Ryan Blake - the connections don't stop their as Curtis Ujah also played in that side and went on to play a few games for The Towners at the start of last season and now plays for Harrow Borough.

Harrow's odds for the title have now been reduced to 33/1 with favourite's Billericay Town (who are currently second in the table) reduced from 10/11 to 1/4!

I'm sure even the most ardent of Harrow Borough fans will not be saying or bragging they are going to win the league but they will be extremely happy with their great start to the season.
